Learning

Christianity is a taught religion. We learn the faith, and, at the same time, catch the faith from the people with whom we share life. The protestant reformers insisted on an educated clergy and an educated laity; thus, we continue this great heritage of a learned faith tradition with Bible study and friendly conversations. Adult Bible study is Wednesday morning at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. Given the busyness of our families, children’s programs are on a special event basis (centered around the themes of the year) or as requested. Youth are encouraged to join the adults in constructive conversations about the Bible and how it is interpreted in today’s experience. At the core of Jesus’ preaching is the command to love. Love God with heart, mind, soul and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. The challenge then is to practice love in this world. We need to come together as friends to explore the writings of Scripture, the traditions of the church, and our personal experiences to discern how best to live and love in our times.
